Hermit

Story

Noah and I went to college together and had lots of classes together and such. The Illustration dept. was extremely small at JBU at the time. We were both inspired by the burgeoning Flash toon scene happening online and wanted to try our hand at making something. Neither of us had made anything in Flash and figured it out together on the school Macs.

I came up with the Hermit character and Noah came up with the concept of him waking up at springtime and hating all the nature noise. This worked out well because with such a basic story we could just make up stand-alone scenes that we thought would be funny, draw them and them piece it all together. Noah came up with the hill eating him at the end so he got the honor of animating that shot.

We landed on black and white for simplicity too I think but I dont really remember.

Heres some old art I found! We drew all the art in ink on paper and scanned it in, vectorized it in Illustrator, and brought that into Flash to animate. These are the original scans.
